Smile Brands is a dominant player in the dental space and we are seeking an Insurance Biller to join our Revenue Cycle Management team in San Antonio, TX. This position will generate and process all general and specialty claims, encounters and pre-authorization requests for submission to insurance carriers for reimbursement or approval. This is a hybrid role working remotely must of the time, but you must be available to come into our Business Support office occasionally. 

• Process insurance billing on previous 2 day treatment paper and electronic submission
• Process claims for PPO, DHMO and Encounters
• Review and hold secondary claims
• Review and hold claims pending provider credentialing
• Review account for major treatment requiring additional documentation
• Contact offices when needed information is missing
• Upload claims to vendor for electronic filling
• Correct any rejected claims holding for electronic filling
• Generate pre-authorization for offices as needed
• Re-submit claims for offices as needed

• Minimum 2 years of billing experience in dental or medical 
• Ability to read EOBs
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must possess excellent customer service skills
• Display professionalism when interacting with both internal and external contacts
• Works well independently and with little supervision
• Ability to multi-task effectively under stress, prioritize and meet deadlines 

• Dental experience (front office or back office) within General Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Periodontics and/or Orthodontics
• Knowledge of CDT Coding and Terminology
• Ability to read dental radiographs (X-rays)
• Knowledge of insurance plans (i.e. HMO, PPO, and Discount Plans)
