We are seeking a Payroll Team Lead to join our team! The Payroll Team Lead is responsible for assisting the Sr. Payroll Manager in managing the complete payroll process for both exempt and non-exempt employees for Smile Brands. The Payroll Specialists will report directly to this position. This position requires the potential candidate to exercise good independent judgement most of time on resolving payroll and tax issues. He/she will stay up-to-date on state and federal payroll and tax laws and ensure an accurate and timely payroll, including base pay, payroll taxes etc.

• Process semimonthly and biweekly in-house payrolls for Smile Brands/Midwest Dental using UKG, formerly Ultipro
• Administers and ensures accuracy, efficiency and timeliness of all payroll activities
• Performs routine audits on payroll to ensure accuracy and proper internal controls
• Ensures proper payroll records’ retention and file maintenance
• Prepares post payroll reports and other payroll reports upon request
• Manage the day to day work and act as a point of escalation for all Payroll Representatives
• Report to management on payroll issues and changes
• Additional duties as assigned by management

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered
• 6+ years of experience processing in-house payroll 
• Experience processing payroll for multiple states
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high growth/high volume work environment

• Experience using UKG, formerly Ultipro
• CPP preferred but not required

• The compensation for this role is $60,000 - $65,000 per year
