Overview

Smile Brands is one of the largest providers of dental support services in the United States. We are seeking a Director of Contracting & Credentialing to join our team. Reporting to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management, you will manage and lead the Provider Enrollment team. The Director will provide leadership necessary to manage an efficient and effective team. Under limited supervision the Director oversees the daily operations of the provider contracting functions and aid in formulating and administering organizational policies and procedures. The director will ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory compliance; manage employees, meet expectations of customers and achieve operational goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee provider contracting activities to ensure efficiency and maintain compliance with the business unit’s policies and standards, government laws and regulations
  • Champion increased provider satisfaction by working with Payors to expedite contracting process
  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate Smile Brands and its affiliated providers commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer
  • Manages quality control of content and completeness of affiliated providers’ data within the credentialing arena
  • Oversees verifications for credentialing files including license, DEA, board certification, NPDB queries.  Manages contracts with these entities to perform primary source verification
  • Performs regular communication with dental plans including credentialing status reports
  • Works with multiple departments to ensure that incoming and outgoing information is accurate and appropriate
  • Works with Credentialing Committee
  • Manages department budget
  • Responsible for supervision of direct reports to include performance management and evaluations
  • Responsible for hiring, developing, training, mentoring and retaining high quality, productive employees
  • Support staff and provide the tools and resources they need to accomplish their goals which includes ensuring staff understand their roles and support staff in addressing issues that arise

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of role related experience in dental or healthcare 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced knowledge with Excel 
  • Strong analytical skills to assess contracting and credentialing data
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, resolve conflicts, and implement solutions effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or related field 
  • Knowledge of dental industry and dental plans (HMO, PPO, and Discount plans)
  • Revenue Cycle Management experience 
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to lead and motivate a team
